LINE 12 – NARRATIVE: Continuation of report SITREP-C035-16: We head back to the country club. Because we cleared the way to get Surf City we make it back in 40-45 minutes. The feel of everyones mood is grim. We learn that we lost three people to an attack of fifty or so zombies(S.Z.).

Mr. Barclay’s son Howard Jr. has had an operating room set up and ready to go for Dr. Rivet. We get Lisa set in the operating room and I ask Dr. Rivet if I can do any thing to help before he kicks me out of the room. After I accomplish the tasks for Dr. Rivet I look for things to occupy my mind so that I stay out of Dr. Rivet’s hair and let him accomplish the task of saving my daughters life.

I want to do a perimeter sweep of the country club to find its week points. As I look for a volunteer to do the perimeter sweep with me it becomes very clear that Howard Jr. has been doing a good job of organizing and leading the group whail the scouting party is away accomplishing tasks. So I run my plan to do a sweep by him and I tell him I could use a volunteer to back me up. Howard Jr. gives me the go-a-head. I find one of the kids Phill and he and  I do the sweep. Phill and I find a large hole in the fence on the opposite corner of the golf grounds. After talking with Howard Jr. I get some people to gather and get to work making a trip wire perimeter alarm system using lengths of cord and empty cans. Hours later Dr. Rivet tells me he is done and lets me know that he feels the operation went well.

I go in to see Lisa. I want to get someone to watch over Lisa for the times I’m doing tasks for the group. Its a little selfish I know but I just would like someone by her side in case she wakes up and feels disorientated. I run it by Howard Jr.  but he feels it would disrupt the organization of the group, and that Dr. Rivet should be able to handle it. I can’t find anything wrong with his leadership decision, but I also can’t help being an overprotective father. A week goes by and I find myself spending more time by Lisa’s side and a little less time doing tasks.

As a personal note: Mr. Barclay and Desirae both succumbed to the fever and fell into a coma and I’m glad I’m not in charge I don’t think I would have committed any of our medical resources to ether of them and more to the point I would have ended their suffering and made sure they would not reanimate by putting my boar-spear through their heads. Im glad of this becuase by the end of the week Mr. Barclay and Desirae both came out of their fever comas. Before this happened I believed that if someone got bit they owed it to the group to choose death over wasting limited resources on a lost cause. Now I’m more of the mind that even if the chance of surviving the fever is very small we owe them that chance. I’m still on the fence about using limited medical supply’s to ease their suffering in the process.

Lisa is doing well and responding good to the dyalisis treatments. I’m often not received well by the group so I talk to Howard Jr. about the need to check people for bite wounds after every encounter with zombies(S.Z.). Hopefully with his help everyone will be more receptive to the idea. In any case as an example Lisa and I will submit to a check after every encounter.

As I was spending some time with Lisa Mr. Barclay walks in the room. I tell him I’m glad my prayers were heard. We get to gather and decide to continue with our previous plan of action. An other eight days go by. We spend them gathering supplies and getting ready to travel.
